What is comparative theology?

The aim of comparative theology is to learn from other religions as a means of gaining insights into one’s own theology, in order to solve social problems together and to promote the potential of traditions to foster peace and human development.

It attempts to develop denominational theology in dialogue with other religions and their theologies. In doing so, it does not want to choose a neutral approach from a religious studies perspective, but to break new ground.

The encounter and the scientific dialogue of religions take place from the respective internal views and seek to fertilise and further develop one’s own religious point of view in a dialogue between different perspectives.
