Forum für Komparative Theologie

The Projekt

What is the Forum for Comparative Theology?

The Forum for Comparative Theology is a platform that was created as part of the joint project of the Center for Comparative Theology and Cultural Studies (ZeKK) at the University of Paderborn and the International Center for Comparative Theology and Social Issues (CTSI) at the University of Bonn.

Funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, the forum provides materials for educators, parents and liturgists. On the other hand, it supports the events, workshops and seminars we offer.

What is the aim of the joint project?

The aim of our cooperation platform is to transfer Comparative Theology from the universities to our society. Comparative Theology is committed to promoting the ability of religions to engage in dialogue and to developing respectful interaction. The dialogue between religions and theologies aims to learn from each other and thus to release emancipatory potential for our democratic systems, to strengthen social cohesion and to promote the ability to live together peacefully.

Who is funding the project?

The Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (MKW NRW) is providing almost two million euros in funding for the joint project to establish a cooperation platform for the transfer of knowledge to society. The project will run from May 2023 to April 2027. On Wednesday, 26 April, NRW’s Minister of Science, Ina Brandes, handed over the funding decision to the project leaders.
